  • Tuesday, September 22 – 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at UCC - Parker
  • Wednesday, October 21 – 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at UCC - Parker

Medical transcriptionists type voice recordings made by physicians or other health care professionals into medical reports. They use their understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, diagnostic procedures and treatment to create accurate records.

Our Medical Transcription program is a completely online program that provides students with the skills necessary to succeed in this growing healthcare field. The online approach improves computer and typing skills while developing competency in medical transcription. Medical transcription is suited for those who want the convenience of studying and working from home.

This course is competency-based so the student won't move on to the next lesson until he/she demonstrates ability in the current lesson. As soon as the student passes all tests and the final exam, he/she is ready for employment.

Benefits of the Medical Transcription Program include:

  • Flexible schedule allows the student to learn the material at his/her own pace.
  • Competency-based program gives the student the necessary tools to become a successful medical transcriptionist.
  • Working a flexible schedule from home allows the student to eliminate day care, avoid long commutes, and spend more time with family.
  • Online forums and real-time chat rooms allow students to discuss current class topics with other students.
  • Monthly discussion groups focus on career opportunities, job hunting, resume writing and other relevant topics. Our next discussion groups are scheduled for:
